There’s something about getting out into nature that shifts my inner patterns in a way I can’t quite explain. The times I feel lost, confused, afraid, sad, desperate….or on the flip side when I feel grounded, at peace, happy, content, loved…every time I step into nature these emotions shift to a more positive outlook.
The younger me would have now proceeded to write how ‘if only I were always feeling the latter, more positive emotions…’
The older and let’s say a little less dumb me says I embrace them all. From sadness to joy; from darkness to light; from empty to full the one constant thing I can do is GET INTO NATURE.
It helps it heals it shifts the flow from struggle to a little less struggle or joy to stoke. It’s a good thing for me and many people I know. It’s a great way to reconnect with others or connect back with the self. It makes sense. It’s organic. It flows when it’s sun or rain or snow. It is the essence of us all and thus crucial to connect and reconnect with over and over again.
Last weekend was filled with these outdoor shared experiences leaving me reminded to seek out more. We’re lucky enough to live in an environment ripe with backcountry possibilities. No matter where you are seek out that park, path, piece of nature you can find.
Movement within it however you can move is the best medicine of all. Even if it means closing your eyes and imagining all the energy from a tree feeding your inner self. This action matters and so do you.
Be be the last person to leave if you can
